On Saturday we had our first Rhodo Bash of the winter.
We were joined on the day by the Duke of Edinburgh students volunteering with the Environment Trust.

Hard work by all helped cut down large rhodo stands as well as digging up established root systems
A possible white tailed bumblebee was found hibernating in the ground during clearance, it warmed up while being held by Gemma as Lucy tried to help identify the species and then flew away in the mild day to find another hibernation site.
Rhodo bashes are lots of fun and the more people we have, the more we can get done, so if you are keen to volunteer on our next Rhodo bash on the 28th of January, email biodiversity@kingston.ac.uk with your name, email address and contact mobile number to register by the 20th of January.
